Upcoming Changes to Uber for Business CSV Files

What is changing?

Uber for Business provides CSV files containing detailed transaction data for all the services used on the business account. We’ll begin gradually rolling out enhancements to these files, some organizations may see the updates starting May 15, 2025. Enhancements include:

  • Adding new columns to provide more detailed information.
  • Rearranging existing columns to improve readability.

The changes will apply to all types for transaction reports - monthly billing statements, ad-hoc CSV export from the activity page, and SFTP exports. However, the delivery channels and delivery cadence of these reports will remain the same. For more on CSV files, see Reporting - CSV.

What actions are required?

  • Review the sample CSV to make necessary adjustments if your system automatically processes CSV files for SFTP or other expensing tools.
  • Update backend configurations to support the new column structure.
  • Transition to the new CSV format once it is officially rolled out to your organization.

Note: To ensure that your automation and integrations don’t break, please refer to column names and not column positions. The column positions can vary month over month as updates are made to CSV.

Why is it changing?

These updates are designed to offer a clearer breakdown of charges, simplifying accounting and reconciliation processes.

Benefits of the new CSV

  • Improved Transparency and Tax Reporting - With the new CSV, the detailed fare and tax breakdown will be available in all countries improving the transparency of the spend and the tax reporting.
  • Improved Reconciliation - You will be able to easily reconcile translation amounts with fare and tax, especially in cases of discounts, programs with budget caps, etc., where this reconciliation was missing earlier. The taxes will reflect the actual tax rates applicable in such cases.
  • Better Readability - Most of the columns are reorganized together to improve the readability of the data.
